How you can become a member of the Foundation Society

Our goal is to build a membership that represents the interests and concerns of all health care consumers in our area - one that also reflects the diverse professional, cultural and personal interests of those consumers. A dynamic mix of people provides a cross section of viewpoints regarding the vital decisions being made by the Foundation.

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about membership in the Foundation Society.

How do I become a member?
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Foundation Society, just contact a member of our Board of Directors or phone our Office Manager at 532-2381 (ext. 137). You are eligible for membership if you live within the service area of the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Membership in the Society is free.

What would I do as a member?
You are welcome to attend all Board meetings and Society events, participate in discussions regarding Foundation business, become involved on various committees (depending on your personal interests) and be nominated for membership on the Board.

What is the time commitment?
All you need is a few hours to spare each month, and the desire to get involved in a worthwhile, rewarding and challenging community project. If you have thoughts on what it would take to keep people healthy, or would like to share your ideas about how health care dollars should be spent, the Foundation Society is the place for you.
Society members are encouraged to attend at least a few monthly Board meetings each year to become acquainted with the role and business of the Foundation. Board members are selected from the Foundation Society membership at the annual business meeting held each May.

Where is the Foundation located?
The Foundation offices are located at the Annapolis Community Health Centre at 821 St. George Street in Annapolis Royal.
